The Devonport Football Club is a united place supporting players, family and community.

The DFC is the destination club for the greater Devonport region. The club is successful on and off the field and respected and valued by the community for its positive influence.

In 2017, over 250 young people participated in the club’s programs - from the under 12 juniors and our youth girls program through to participation in the Tasmanian State League. In 2018 we will again be represented at the NWFL community level. We aim to consolidate the club in this competition to ensure that the city has a strong and stable club for the hundreds of kids in our community, for many years to come.

Kurt Byard has been appointed to the role of NWFL Seniors Coach, working with Simon Dent. Kurt has a long history of involvement in football. He is an experienced player and coach at both senior and junior level, working under Mitch Thorp as assistant for the last two years and prior to that at underage level for a number of seasons. He is focused on the opportunity to improve and build depth within the Club's playing ranks.

Simon has previously performed the role of assistant coach to Mitch and has had a long history of involvement in football in North West Tasmania. Simon is passionate about culture, leadership and strategy and says his own personal alignment to the Club's newly development vision and strategy, and his previous experience with the current playing group are key reasons behind his excitement for his new role.

We are very fortunate to have both Simon and Kurt with us in 2018.

The talent is clearly there and the success of our junior teams, winning multiple premierships over the last few years provides a significant platform for the club in future years. We must ensure that we support and challenge our players to become the very best they can be, both on and off the field by providing the right balance of people, facilities and structure for them.
